Cloud computing has brought about a step change in the economics and sustainability of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The UK Government is committed to the adoption of cloud computing and delivering computing resources. The G-Cloud is an iterative programme of work to achieve this which will deliver fundamental changes in the way the public sector procures and operates ICT.

The initial focus is on introducing Cloud ICT services into government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector. In order to do this, the Government has undertaken a procurement exercise for the G-Cloud services under the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) process. These services can now be reviewed and purchased through the CloudStore, without the need for a further tendering process.  At present there are 4 categories of G-Cloud services available: Infrastructure, Software, Platform and Specialist Cloud Services.

The services available from Quantum Plus can be accessed under the Specialist Cloud Service (SCS) category and consist of:

  • Sourcing strategy development
  • Tender planning and preparation
  • RFP development
  • Service provider selection
  • Health check
  • Vendor management database development
  • Software asset management database development
  • Software licence database development
  • Sourcing consultancy
