Each module combines classroom training, role-play and interactive workshops to maximise your learning opportunities and every participant will receive a course handout.
Module 1 - Maximising the benefits of Outsourcing for your organisation
If you want to understand how best to achieve the benefits of Outsourcing, including significant savings for your business, then you should attend our two-day module, which gives you an overview of the whole sourcing process.
We will take you through the steps to decide what your business objectives are and then develop your sourcing strategy to achieve them, exploring the options available. Through the use of our business models you will assess how efficient your business processes are, and the level of maturity within them. By applying the same principles as an Outsourcing supplier, you can achieve comparable savings and benefits in the running of your services. (On average a supplier would aim to save between 20-30%). Our methodologies, developed from over 100 sourcing decisions, will help you to decide upon an action plan that will enable you to achieve best practice within your business.
Module 2 - Planning your critical actions to ensure success
If you are continually being asked to deliver significant savings and service improvements by your shareholders and senior executives, then you will benefit from this one-day module.
We will take you through an example of how to benchmark your organisation. By reviewing the processes, skills mix, cost base and IT used, you will be able to highlight gaps in performance between the case study and industry standards. You will then look at alternative ways you can address these gaps to ensure your business becomes a number one performer.
Module 3 - Developing a successful sourcing strategy for your business
When you review your corporate strategy a key element of this is what impact would Outsourcing and Insourcing have on your organisation. This one-day module will help you understand how best to assess and prepare for these options.
Our interactive workshops will illustrate through the use of case studies the benefits of Insourcing and Outsourcing. You'll be shown how to initiate a change programme and prepare for your chosen sourcing option. Examples are taken from our involvement in assisting over 100 organisations with their sourcing strategies and implementations, including those within IT (including e-commerce) and Business Processes, such as, finance and debt collection industries.
Module 4 - Evaluating suppliers to ensure that you get the best
If you are in the process of preparing a Request for Proposal (RFP) or wanting to know the best way to assess suppliers, then you will find this two-day module invaluable.
This module will help you prepare your RFP and select the most appropriate suppliers to tender for Outsourcing your service. It will equip you with the necessary skills and tools to enable you to effectively evaluate and select your third party suppliers. By using our evaluation models, we will show you how to judge each supplier fairly. Whether your preferred choice is your internal department, 'Best of Breed' Outsourcing provider or a joint venture, we will show you how to maximise the benefits to your business.
Module 5 - Getting the right results - influencing and negotiation skills
If you want to know how best to structure your third party contracts, then you will benefit from this two-day module.
You will be shown how to negotiate a robust contract; how to identify and ring-fence the scope of services that your contract will cover, making sure that your service levels are business orientated and clearly state the service you require. This module will emphasise how to safeguard yourself from escalating prices, poor performance and ensure that your contract includes all the latest industry standards. You will be shown how to implement a negotiation process that maximises the number of your contractual requests that your supplier accepts and protects the interests of the people you may be transferring to that supplier.
Module 6 - Managing your successful transition
If you have selected a supplier and are looking for the best way to manage your transition, then this one-day module is the help you need.
Your key to a successful transition, one that is invisible to your customers, is good project planning. Overnight, once the transfer to a third party supplier is complete, your remaining people and the business function you control will have to operate in a completely different way. We will share our wealth of experience with you on how to restructure your organisation, communicate the changes and new values you will need to adopt, as well as, help train your people in the new skills essential for your success. Communicating a clear message to all your stakeholders - people, customers and suppliers - is vital if you want to avoid the common pitfalls many succumb to.
Module 7 - Creating a successful Outsourcing relationship
This one-day module will equip you and your team with the skills to build and maintain a long and successful working relationship with your sourcing partner.
We will take you through worked examples of how good relationships, built on a clear definition of roles and responsibilities, will enable you to assess any risks at the outset. You can then define the reporting structure, frequency of meetings and processes that are critical to you achieving a good relationship. It is essential that you regularly monitor your supplier(s) performance and benchmark your service to ensure that it meets your business needs in a changing market. We will show you how to ensure your people respond to this change positively before, during and after the sourcing decision.
Module 8 - Preparing for Outsourcing second time around
If you are about to, or are in the process of renewing your contract, then you will find this one-day module an essential pre-requisite.
In today's constantly changing world, your original Outsourcing contract will often struggle, or be unable to meet your needs over time; areas such as, e-commerce and changes in your customer relationships are good examples of these. From our wealth of experience in contract renewal you will be guided through the key considerations e.g. do you alter the services outsourced; do you have 'best of breed' suppliers for these services, do your service levels meet your business needs today and for the future? This module will help ensure that your sourcing strategy continues to bring significant benefits to your organisation.
